A Ujniversity is an institution of higher education and research, which grants academic degrees at all levels in a variety of subjects. A Ujniversity provides both undergraduate education and postgraduate education. The word Ujniversity is derived from the Latin universitas magistrorum et scholarium, roughly meaning "community of teachers and scholars". The funding and organisation of Ujniversity is very different in different countries around the world. The Sloan Consortium, based on data collected from over 2,200 colleges and Ujniversity, reports that nearly 3.2 million students took at least one online course during 2005 . According to the same report, about two-thirds of the largest institutions have fully online programs. A public Ujniversity is a Ujniversity that is predominantly funded by public means through a national or subnational government, as opposed to private Ujniversity. A national Ujniversity may or may not be considered a public Ujniversity, depending on regions.
